Everyone knows that Trump’s State of the Union address was reality television, but it was much more than that.

Consider: At one point, he declares his opposition to the Maduro regime in Venezuela. Everybody claps. Then he reveals the legitimate president is in the audience. Even Democrats clap. And then over the applause he declares “Socialism destroys nations.”

Gotcha!

Then he presents a woman with her adorable 2-year-old – a miracle baby born prematurely. Bi-partisan applause and then, he calls on Congress to ban late term abortion.

Then he calls out a fourth grader being raised by a single mom – how can you not clap? And then awards her a scholarship to the school of her choice.

“Because no parent should be forced to send their child to a failing government school,” President Trump stated.

Over and over, he cornered the Democrats.

How Washington state plans to avoid repeat of Iowa caucus debacle

On the Politico web site I noticed that the real-time fact checks slowly tapered off as they realized you can’t really fact check the Music Man.

He never mentioned impeachment — he didn’t have to. Who would impeach, much less remove, a President who saves babies, reunites families, and sends minority kids to school?

Of course it was frustrating for Nancy Pelosi, but that script she felt compelled to rip up? I’m not so sure it was his.

Ross: Are we killing car culture? Or is car culture killing the US?

I don’t think the question is whether we're going to "kill" our car culture. The real question is can we stop our car culture from killing the U.S.?
