New York tells Sanders and Cruz to ‘fugheddaboutit’

Last night in New York, the front runners did what they had to do. And if you can make it there, you can certainly make it in Philadelphia, but, what about Cleveland?
That’s what Donald Trump is worried about. July’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland is where party’s nomination rules kick in and those rules may not favor Trump.
“It’s a crooked system, it’s a system that’s rigged. And we are gonna go back to the old way. It’s called ‘you vote and you win,’” Trump has said.
Which is what his lawyers will be arguing at the big meeting of Republican Party officials in Florida tomorrow.
They will be discussing the rules for the convention in Cleveland. And Mr. Trump does not like those rules, because those rules make it clear that voters do not choose the nominee — delegates do. Delegates who, in most cases, can change their minds after the first vote. That includes the delegates Trump won Tuesday night in New York.
“Nobody should take delegates unless they get those delegates with voting. And that’s what’s going to happen,” Trump told a crowd of supporters.
But there was something different in his tone Tuesday night.
“You know we have won millions of more votes than Senator Cruz,” he said.
“Senator” Cruz. No more “Lying Ted.” This could be the presidential Trump he’s been warning his fans about — still defiant, but measured. That’s the plan anyway.
But we’ll see, because when he’s in front of 20,000 cheering fans, he will face the classic rock star’s dilemma: do I play my new stuff or the stuff they came to hear?
