Following record-setting rainfall in February, the Puget Sound region braces for another atmospheric river that will make landfall in Western Washington midday Monday and persist through Tuesday morning with rain forecasted through Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service predicts that as much as half an inch of rain could fall Monday, and University of Washington Meteorologist Cliff Mass forecasts a rough inch of rain by the time the weather event subsides.

Showers are forecasted through the week, with a brief respite Wednesday morning and midday before the rain resumes that evening.

The Olympics and Cascades are anticipated to see as much as 6-7 inches of rain through Tuesday morning. The snow level is forecasted as 3,500 feet, with Mass saying feet of snow are possible.

The National Weather Service expects rivers to flood in Mason, Snohomish, King, Pierce, and Lewis counties. Flood stages are expected to last through Wednesday.
