People living in Seattle have less reason to complain about the weather. It’s science.

Seattle weather has some, if not the, least severe storms in the nation, KIRO Radio’s Rachelle Belle says, citing a Washington Post article.

The Seattle branch of the Northwest Weather Service sends out one of the fewest number of severe weather warnings in the country, Ian Livingston with the Post writes. In the past 25 months, Seattle has issued four warnings, according to Livingston.

That’s a stark contrast to weather service offices in Oklahoma and Texas that have issued the most warnings, including severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and flooding.

The National Weather Service even has a Twitter feed set up for storm-affected regions, though many in Washington have probably not checked it recently — or ever. Here’s an example of something you probably won’t see very often in Western Washington:

“So, yeah, no more complaining please,” Belle said during the “Ron and Don Show.”
