The presidential debates will be like watching Godzilla fight Mothra

Here we are, a week without a convention and it’s nearly two months before Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump go head-to-head in the first of the presidential debates.

But now even that sounds like it’s up in the air after Trump tweeted on Friday that the debate process was rigged because the Sept. 26 and Oct. 9 debates ended up being scheduled opposite NFL games.

As usual, Hillary & the Dems are trying to rig the debates so 2 are up against major NFL games. Same as last time w/ Bernie. Unacceptable!

On CBS’s “Face The Nation,” Donald Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort hinted that Hillary Clinton rigged it that way.

“He said he wants to participate in it but just like we discovered in the hack of the DNC, Mrs. Clinton likes low audiences watching her debates, that’s what she conspired for to keep Bernie Sanders from getting a large audience,” Manafort said. “Mr. Trump said ‘I want a debate. I will do three debates. But I want it to be the maximum audience.”

Because Trump has dropped out of a debate before some pockets of the internet are convinced he’s using this as an excuse to do it again.

But I don’t buy it.

It seems to me if anyone should be worried about the audience competition on those two nights it would be the NFL. You can see football anytime. But these debates will be beyond Lincoln versus Douglas. This is more like Ali versus Foreman. This is like Godzilla versus Mothra!

So why not hold them on the same night? If they were really smart they would just hold the debates on the 50-yard line!
