Why did it take so long to create DNA profile of Ted Bundy?

Nearly three decades after his execution police are still investigating cold cases believed to be tied to serial killer Ted Bundy.

I was surprised to learn that Washington state still does not have an official sample of his DNA.

As KIRO 7’s Dave Wagner continues his series on Bundy, he explained to me why that is.

“You would think there would be Ted Bundy DNA available to any investigator,” he told me.
