Seattle police are searching for a man who assaulted a well-known veteran’s rights advocate outside CenturyLink Field Saturday night.

Alvin Graham Jr., who rides his bike on a trainer dressed in stars and stripes, was taking a break when a man riding in a pedi-cab got angry with him for some reason, says Seattle police detective Drew Fowler.

The man and a woman in the pedi-cab with him began throwing food at Graham and his wife, prompting the pedi-cab operator to throw them out of the vehicle.

Graham followed the couple down 1st Avenue South, telling KING 5 he was trying to ask why they were throwing food at him.

He says the suspect first lunged at the driver, but after bystanders intervened, the man suddenly turned and punched him in the face. Graham was taken to the hospital by ambulance and told he suffered a broken eye socket that will likely need surgery.

“I covered up,” he told KING 5. “‘Oh Lord! Jeez. He’s going to start kicking me.’ Everyone kept saying, ‘Come on brother don’t do it, don’t do it!’ and I just held my head.”

The suspect is described as as a black male in his late 20’s or early 30’s, measuring 5’10” and 260 pounds. He was wearing a light grey Seahawks jersey.

Anyone with information is asked to call Seattle police.
