Seattle’s first baby of new year born at Swedish First Hill

The first Seattle baby of the new year was born in Swedish First Hill.
Seven-pound 10-ounce Sadie McMillan was born to Candice McMillan at 12:02 a.m. yesterday, arriving a little early, as she was scheduled to be born three weeks from now.
But Candice went into labor Tuesday afternoon and was admitted about 8:00 p.m. that night. She reports that Sadie came into the world quietly, barely crying at all.

“We were admitted into Swedish First Hill around 8 p.m. and baby McMillan made her appearance at 12:02 p.m. on January 1. She just couldn’t wait to join the party,” new mother Candice McMillan told KIRO Radio.
“I was shocked. Earlier in the day I started having contractions and I didn’t want to believe it could be real, that I’d be spending my New Year’s Eve at Swedish First Hill, but plans change, especially when you have kids.”
The staff at Swedish celebrated the first birth with a basket full of goodies for the family.
