The Puget Sound region will be getting an early preview of summer weather this weekend.

Public lands to reopen for ‘every type of recreation, except for camping’

Highs in lowlands near the Seattle area will approach 85 degrees by Saturday, and 84 degrees by Sunday.

Things will cool down to 77 degrees on Monday, before returning to more typical spring weather with rain and temperatures in the mid-60s on the docket for the rest of May.

With the weather clearing up and restrictions on some outdoor recreation relaxing, there are plenty of ways to safely enjoy the sunshine this weekend. You can book a tee-time for a twosome, go hiking in a park, or take out a boat for a relaxing fishing trip.

Golf reopens in Washington: Time to behave and ‘grip it and rip it’

To ensure that we can continue to enjoy these activities into the summer months, health officials are reminding people to avoid congregating in large groups, wear face coverings when outdoors, and remain six feet apart from people in other households.

Camping is still not allowed on any state lands, while Gov. Inslee recently advised that any recreational trips remain limited to members of the same household.

For golfers looking to hit the links, there are also a handful of rules and restrictions to be aware of. You can read the full list of new safety measures here.
