We hear all the time that bipartisanship has disappeared.

The examples are everywhere, like the president issuing an immigration policy he knew Republicans would hate, and then the leadership of the House reacting with a bill to undermine that policy.

“We don’t believe that the president has the authority to do what he did,” said Mitch McConnell.

The House deliberately pushing a bill that everyone knows the president will never sign. Even though this same House leadership refuses to allow a vote on an immigration bill that the president would sign. A bill which has already passed the Senate and which would immediately overrule the detested immigration directive.

It all seems so very fifth grade. But this week, out of the blue, there’s a ray of hope.

There they were on the floor of the House and Democrat Xavier Becerra of Los Angeles said, “Let me begin, Mr. Speaker, by thanking, not only my colleague, but my dear friend Mr. Sam Johnson.”

A Democrat and Republican Sam Johnson of Texas, both rising in support of the same bill, which ended up passing unanimously.

It was a bill to cut off social security payments to deported Nazis living overseas.

All four of them.

Proving that Congress can come together on, not only on social security, but on immigration as well. As long as it involves Nazis.

Ross: Voters weren’t just voting for change, they were voting for a hormone

The more I read the post-election analysis, the more I’m convinced voters weren’t just voting for a change – they were voting for a hormone.
