No new trial for convicted murderer who stabbed lawyers in court

The convicted murderer that gained notoriety for stabbing his lawyers with smuggled pencils in court will not be getting a new trial.
Joshua Monson asked for a new trial, claiming juror bias and a lack of evidence.
The Everett Herald reports the state Court of Appeals refused to throw out his first degree murder sentence for killing a 30-year-old friend.
Monson, who is a meth addict, attacked three of his attorneys while on trial, twice with pencils he smuggled into court and a third time with his lawyer’s own pen.
He eventually had to be strapped to his chair to prevent any other attacks.
He is serving 45 years in prison.
