Puyallup police seek vandals who hit at least 50 cars since last week

Nov 11, 2013, 7:10 PM | Updated: Nov 12, 2013, 7:49 am

Puyallup police are hunting for the vandals that hit over 50 cars over the past few nights, leaving a trail of damage behind.

The vandals drove through neighborhoods while someone in the back seat smashed driver side mirrors and windows with a baseball bat or metal pipe, according to Puyallup police Captain Scott Engle.

They hit 30 cars Thursday night, 14 cars on Friday night and at least 6 cars Saturday evening into Sunday morning.

“We’re advising residents to be alert to unusual vehicles in their neighborhood suspicious activity and immediately report that to 911 and also be alert to any vehicles driving through the neighborhoods over and over again,” he said.

The vandals car is described as a red, four-door passenger vehicle. But police have little else to go on.

“This is a case where we know that someone knows something because there were multiple occupants in the vehicle when it happened.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Puyallup police tip line at 253-770-3343. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
