The search is on for a man who tried to sexually assault a woman as she walked down the sidewalk near the Puyallup Walmart.
Police say the 22-year-old victim was walking northbound in the 2900 block of 5th Street Southeast around 10:20 Tuesday night when the suspect approached. They spoke briefly before the man attacked her and forced her towards a nearby fence. As the man attacked her, she was able to knee him and run to the nearby Walmart for help.
Officers and a K-9 team searched the area, but couldn’t find the suspect. They did learn the suspect had been inside the Walmart before the attack. A search of the video surveillance cameras located images of the suspect. He’s described as a white male in his 30’s, standing approximately 6’2″ and weighing approximately 180 pounds.
The suspect had stained or possibly decaying front teeth, a distinctive circular tattoo on his stomach area around his bellybutton, as well as another tattoo on his right bicep area of his arm. He wore a red baseball cap on backwards, blue baggy jeans, and no shirt.
Anyone with information about this case, knows the identity of the suspect, or the location of the suspect is asked to call the Puyallup Police Department Tip Line at 253-770-3343.
