Q13 News anchor Bill Wixey has a pretty dreamy voice. So it should come as little surprise he can put even God to sleep.

Wixey is getting worldwide attention after movie star Morgan Freeman dozed off during an interview with Wixey and his co-anchor Kaci Aitchison Wednesday.

Freeman – who played God in Bruce Almighty, one of his many notable roles – and actor Michael Caine were chatting about their new movie, “Now You See Me,” via satellite. Caine was plenty chatty, but Freeman was having a hard time staying awake, his eyes flickering until he finally fell asleep.

“It was really interesting to look at in retrospect and because I was focused on what Caine was saying I didn’t notice any of this,” Wixey tells KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson Show.

It’s the nap heard round the world. Everyone from Jimmy Kimmel and The Today Show to British tabloids have been having a field day with the story.

“I felt bad actually afterwards because I asked Morgan a question towards the end of the interview and woke him from his nap,” Wixey laughs.

But Wixey’s actually quite understanding. After all, it was the last of several dozen satellite interviews for the 75-year-old actor with TV stations all over the country, following a late night premier. And even Wixey acknowledges answering the same questions over and over can get pretty boring.

“Had I noticed it, it may have just popped into my mind to say, hey Morgan, are you OK over there buddy?”
