14 dogs seized from Edmonds home after neighbor catches fight on video

May 15, 2013, 10:06 AM | Updated: 10:22 am

An Edmonds woman is under investigation for animal cruelty after 14 dogs were removed from her house on Tuesday.

A neighbor caught an attack on video, which led police to the home. The video, posted on YouTube, showed several dogs “ganging up on one dog, which was a white terrier commonly known as a pit bull, but the dog was very docile,” explains Edmonds Police Sgt. Mark Marsh.

The white pit bull was bitten several times in the attack. A second dog had a leg injury.

Marsh says it does not appear the woman was running a fight ring. Only five of the dogs were properly licensed. City of Edmonds prohibits more than five pets.

Two of the dogs, including the one seen in the video, were taken to a local veterinarian for treatment. All 14 dogs will be kept at a local kennel during the investigation.

The 44-year-old woman was booked into the Snohomish County Jail under a misdemeanor charge.
