Plan ahead for SR 520 Bridge closures tonight

The Washington State Department of Transportation is working on the State Route 520 bridge again. That means closures are expected.
The closures will happen periodically from 2:30-5 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14. The closures are for monthly maintenance.

WSDOT’s Steve Peers said, “Crews still open and close the draw span during these closures to make sure it is still working properly. They want to continue to test it in case they need to open it due to a large windstorm that could potentially threaten the bridge if it doesn’t open.”
If you decide to take the 520 bridge overnight, prepare for waits of up to 30 minutes. If you are planning to drive over Lake Washington, use alternate routes like I-90, State Route 522 or I-405.
