Police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a jogger in West Seattle Wednesday morning.

Detective Renee Witt said a woman was in the 5400 block of California Ave. SW around 5 a.m. when a man pulled her down to the ground and touched her genitals.

“The victim said that during the attack, the suspect did not say anything or react to anything she said to him,” said Witt.

The man ran off when the woman began screaming, Witt said.

Police were unable to get a good description of the suspect, but say he was wearing a dark colored hoodie and pants.

A few hours after the attack, a message was found at the scene, written in chalk on the sidewalk:

“Women of West Seattle:

Physical / Sexual Assault took place HERE.

The man ran away & was not located by police. I was out for my A.M. run in our neighborhood. Be AWARE!

WARN YOUR FRIENDS”
