KIRO Radio’s Dave Ross typically feels the “Bern” during his morning show. But on Thursday he was feeling the burn.
Ross and 710 ESPN Seattle’s Danny O’Neil discussed how Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is altering his reps of a challenging exercise called the single leg Bulgarian split squat this offseason as part of a new training regiment to prevent injuries and increase speed.
Although Dave thought the glute activation exercise “sounded like a CIA torture method” he attempted the move anyway. He explained that the move involves putting your foot on a chair and squat with the other thing until your thigh starts killing you.
Wilson used to do four sets of eight reps.
“I made it up and down once before the commercial break ended,” Ross said. “It was painful.”

While a contorting leg exercise is one thing, Ross says he won’t even try Wilson’s sleeping routine: five to six hours a night during the week and 10 hours on Fridays and Saturdays.
“There is no way I could physically stay in bed for 10 hours,” Ross said.
One listener tried to explain the situation to Ross with this message: “If you don’t understand why Russell Wilson would stay in bed for 10 hours, obviously you’ve never seen Ciara.”
