Boeing calls for mediation in engineering contract dispute

The impasse between Boeing and it’s engineering union continues.
SPEEA officials said in a statement the company rejected the union’s latest contract offer Thursday and requested a federal mediator be brought in for negotiations.
While Boeing continues to insist it pays technical workers above market, the union calls its methodology “flawed.”
“These below-inflation raise pools and medical plan takeaways mean techs will lose money during the life of the contract,” said Joel Funfar, technical team member.
SPEEA has sent notice out to its members to continue voicing their frustration and has scheduled training sessions for picket line captains two days next week.
