A man charged with a murder in Tacoma last weekend was arrested at Sea-Tac Airport after buying a one-way ticket to Chicago.
When a gun went off at a party Saturday night, Jimmy Arevalo, 31, asked the guy with the gun to put it down. Police say that’s when Steven Pawlak, 23, fired several shots at him.
Friends and family members of the victim, also at the party, tried to help him, but Arevalo died at a hospital. A witness told police Pawlak had been drinking and predicted that he might kill somebody that night.
Pawlak was arrested at Sea-Tac Airport Monday. He’s charged with first degree murder.
