Final 520 open house to reveal Montlake lid designs

A final open house Monday will display models of covered
overpasses planned for the Seattle side as part of the
highway 520 rebuild.
The state will reveal the latest changes to plans for lids
over the highway, including at Montlake. The revisions are
based on public feedback.
The state has rolled out a series of design concepts for
the
west end of the 520 project, including a new Portage Bay
bridge and a bicycle-pedestrian path.
Monday’s is the last of seven community meetings
over the last nine months. The meeting starts at 4:30 at
St.
Demetrios Church, 2100 Boyer Ave. E. in Seattle.
The state is still trying to secure more than $2 billion
in
funding for work from I-5 to the west high rise of the
bridge. It’s possible the state could get hundreds of
millions of dollars in loans to start projects on the west
end of the highway 520 corridor.
