Pencil stabbing defendant convicted

May 10, 2012, 6:09 AM | Updated: 7:43 am

The Everett man who made international news after repeatedly stabbing his defense attorneys with pens and pencils has been convicted of murder in his long-delayed trial.

Joshua Monson was accused of killing Brian Jones in January of 2011, but his murder was continually pushed back as he fought unrelated drug charges and made a habit of stabbing his attorneys.

Three times he grabbed a pencil and jabbed it in the neck or head of a defense attorney. He did it a fourth time with a pen.

Wednesday he was strapped to a special chair to restrict his movement as a jury convicted him in the killing.

The Everett Herald reports he could face 50 years when sentenced.
