The mother of a Tacoma teenager killed at an after-hours
motorcycle club party last year is suing the property
owner where the party happened. The suit was filed after
another person was murdered at a club party last weekend.
Billy Shirley, 17, was shot in the back at a party thrown
by the Global Grinders last August, according to police.
The property is owned by Bill’s Towing and Garage which
the suit claims allowed these parties and the illegal
activity inside.
It claims the owner knew what was happening but didn’t
provide any security.
The News Tribune reports Shirley’s murder is the only
unsolved homicide in Tacoma last year.
Mark Fulgham, spokesperson with Tacoma Police Department,
told MyNorthwest.com the warehouse was boarded up by the
time they got there, a very similar scene to Sunday’s
homicide.
Police say Bruce Price, 40, was shot and killed at the
Global Grinders’ party early Sunday morning.
“We’re locating a lot of people,” Fulgham said. “A lot of
them didn’t stay around after the shots were fired. (It)
sounds like most of the people fled prior to officers
arriving. We do have a few people that we were able to
talk to to at least get a starting point.”
