Hundreds marched down 7th Avenue to Amazon corporate headquarters Tuesday behind a semi-truck emblazoned with the Teamsters’ logo. Earlier in September, the Teamsters announced the creation of a new division focused exclusively on unionization efforts for Amazon employees.

Union President Sean O’Brien helped lead the march, alongside Randy Korgan, the new director of the Teamster’s new Amazon division.

In a statement, O’Brien said the new division will give Amazon workers access to the Teamster’s nationwide network of resources.

They don’t have any members from the company yet.

Amazon spokesperson Brad Glasser told Geekwire, “We respect the rights of individuals to peacefully protest,” and as we’ve always said, it’s our employees’ choice of whether or not to join a union — it always has been.”

Many of those marching were in Seattle to attend the Teamsters’ Women’s Conference.
