If you need a job, the best place to find work in Western Washington is King County.

The latest figures from the state Employment Security Department show that King County has the lowest unemployment rate among Puget Sound-area counties.

The statewide jobless rate for February is 8.3 percent while unemployment in King County sits at 7.4 percent.

About half the 39 counties in Washington still have double-digit unemployment rates, including Grant County at 12.7 percent and Grays Harbor County at 13.8 percent.

Statewide, the lowest jobless rate of 5.8 percent is found in Whitman County where wheat farming is the dominant industry but Washington State University is the largest employer.
