Gee Scott: Let law enforcement do their job!

A new Washington bill would limit police to pulling you over only if you have a moving violation.
House Bill 1512 is unlikely to become law, but it did prompt Charlie Harger, host of “Seattle’s Morning News,” to ask Gee Scott how he felt about the proposal.
“You have folks driving, doing whatever, and then we wonder why all of these things that happen, whether it’s stolen cars, whether it’s stolen guns, whether it’s our it’s our juveniles, our youth, that’s happening and oh, by the way, how about the fact that right now in King County, if you are a teen that is convicted of having a gun, you can do that up to five times before you serve more than 30 days,” Gee said, adding that the proposal is another way to prevent law enforcement from doing their job.
“So what are we talking about now? Can I present the argument that I think many people are making here, which is these nonmoving violations? You’re still getting dinged for them, in theory, right? You’re getting something in the mail instead. That’s why you’re still getting fined. You’re getting a warning in the mail, a warning, or a fine,” Gee continued.
He said that’s not enough.
