Shooting in Seattle’s Seward Park injures teenager

Seattle police detectives are investigating a shooting in Seattle’s Seward Park.
According to a post on the Seattle Police Blotter, a teenager shot in the stomach survived, after a shooting late Friday night in the park.
Just after 10:00 p.m., 911 dispatchers received reports of somebody threatening a person with a gun.
Officers soon arrived at the popular park along Lake Washington Blvd. S.
Police say that’s when officers heard gunfire coming from within the park.
After searching the area, they discovered a 16-year-old boy near the Seward Park Amphitheater, on the upper loop road.
He had suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Officers gave him first aid at the scene, then carried him about 100 yards to Seattle Fire Department medics.
An ambulance transported him to Harborview Medical Center, where doctors say he is in serious, but stable, condition.
So far, police have not made any arrests.
It’s unclear whether they have identified any suspects or if the victim is cooperating with investigators.
Detectives are still trying to figure out the circumstances that led to the shooting.
The Seattle Police Department’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit is leading the investigation.
