Gee shocked by soaring $1M Seattle World Cup ticket prices

Seattle is buzzing with anticipation for next year’s FIFA World Cup, but early ticket prices have fans doing double takes.

According to StubHub, a few premium seats are currently priced at $1 million each.

During a segment on “The Gee and Ursula Show” on KIRO Newsradio, co-host Gee Scott said that he was shocked by the prices.

“The most I have heard about someone paying for a ticket was a little over $25,000,” Gee said. “These prices for the World Cup, oh, my goodness, four left at $1 million each!”

While most locals agree that the World Cup will bring a major economic boost, these early resale prices raise real concerns about accessibility.

Many Seattle sports fans who were just gearing up to pay four figures for Mariners playoff tickets are now wondering whether they’ll be able to experience one of the biggest events in their own city.
