Son in custody following death of parents in Federal Way

A welfare check in Federal Way led officers to find a man and woman dead inside their home Thursday.
After an hours-long search, the victims’ 35-year-old son was taken into custody. He was previously named as a person of interest.
Federal Way officers find couple dead during welfare check
At approximately 12:11 p.m., Federal Way Police Department (FWPD) officers responded to conduct a welfare check in the 33700 block of 27th Place Southwest, FWPD announced.
As officers arrived, they found a man and a woman in their mid-60s dead inside the residence.
FWPD sent out an alert asking for the public’s help to find their son. A few hours later, a patrol officer spotted the son, and authorities took him into custody.
