Footage released of suspect throwing bike at deputy during foot pursuit in Snohomish County

Mar 9, 2026, 3:16 PM

Footage was released of a suspect throwing his bicycle at a deputy during an attempt to flee on foot last week in Snohomish County.

On March 3, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) Deputy Moses was contacting a suspect who had an outstanding warrant, SCSO announced.

After standing by the front of Deputy Moses’s vehicle for a short time, he abruptly began sprinting toward a bike located nearby in an attempt to escape.

Deputy tripped over bicycle but recovered, continued pursuit

During the pursuit, the suspect threw his bicycle down in front of Deputy Moses, causing him to trip over it and fall to the ground.

Despite his fall, Deputy Moses recovered and continued to pursue the suspect across a gas station parking lot and through several lanes of traffic.

The deputy caught up with the suspect in the middle of 128th Street and pushed him from behind, taking him to the ground.

“I’ve got him down on the ground right now in the middle of the road,” Deputy Moses said as he told the suspect to put his hands behind his back.

The suspect was taken into custody and later charged with possession of a controlled substance and trespass in the second degree.
