Bomb threat prompts Renton Police sweep at Valley Medical Center

Police swept and cleared Renton Hospital on Sunday evening after someone called in a bomb threat.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., a 911 call reported a bomb threat at Valley Medical Center, the Renton Police Department (RPD) announced.
When officers arrived, they secured the area while additional resources were called in.

K-9 teams from the Port of Seattle Police Department assisted with a search of the building. After a thorough sweep, officers did not find any explosive devices or other threats.
Authorities said the hospital was cleared and operations returned to normal following the search.
No evacuations were required, and no injuries were reported.
“We appreciate the cooperation of Valley Medical Center and those that assisted to ensure the safety of our community,” RPD stated.
The case has been turned over to RPD detectives for further investigation.
