LeMay – America’s Car Museum in Tacoma is rolling out a full month of automotive-themed fun, from classic car rides and outdoor movies to premium summer soirées and community cruise-ins. Whether you’re a lifelong gearhead or just looking for a unique summer outing, there’s something for everyone.
Take a Spin at ACM
Fridays | 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Ever wondered what it feels like to ride in a piece of automotive history? Fridays at LeMay offer the chance to do just that during Take a Spin at ACM. Guests can ride in a vehicle from the museum’s collection, learn what makes these automobiles special, and grab a few photos along the way.
One ride is included with museum admission, and ACM members ride free. Spend the day exploring exhibits, checking out the new café, and then head to the Haub Family Field for your ride through automotive history.
Cars & Cigars: Summer Speakeasy
Saturday, August 8 | 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.
One of the South Sound’s signature summer events returns as Cars & Cigars: Summer Speakeasy transforms the museum plaza into an upscale outdoor gathering celebrating craftsmanship, culture, and community.
Guests can enjoy stunning collector cars, premium cigars, handcrafted cocktails and mocktails, live entertainment, local cuisine, luxury lounge spaces, and an atmosphere inspired by vintage cigar lounges and classic automotive elegance.
Whether you’re there for the cars, the conversations, or the cocktails, this annual event offers a stylish summer evening unlike any other.
Motors & Movies: F1 The Movie
Friday, August 14 | Gates Open 6:30 p.m. | Movie at Sundown
Grab your lawn chairs and blankets and settle in for another Motors & Movies night under the stars.
This month’s free feature is F1 The Movie, following former Formula One driver Sonny Hayes as he returns to the sport to mentor a young rookie and revive a struggling team. With high-speed action and dramatic race sequences, it’s the perfect film for a night at America’s Car Museum.
Admission is free for all ages, concessions will be available for purchase, and everyone is welcome, whether you arrive in a show car or your daily driver.
Summer Cruise-In
Thursday, August 20 | 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Nothing says summer quite like a parking lot full of cool cars, live music, food vendors, and fellow enthusiasts.
LeMay’s next Summer Cruise-In brings together the local automotive community for an evening of great builds, good conversation, and family-friendly fun. This free event is open to everyone and offers a relaxed way to enjoy the season.
Car owners can also compete for some friendly bragging rights, with awards for:
