Senior-living community Solstice at Point Defiance is commemorating its recent remodel with an event, the Summer Breeze Soirée, set for 3-5:30 p.m. on Aug. 12.

The gathering will give residents, families, and community members a chance to tour the updated space, which features new paint, lighting, furniture, revitalized common areas, and renovated cottages and apartment homes. A new Veterans Wall has also been added to honor service members.

Festivities will include live music from The Bale Jumpers, a 4 p.m. ribbon cutting with the local chamber of commerce, community tours, summer-inspired food and drinks, and a gift-basket raffle benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association.

“Our theme for this event is ‘summer breeze’ because it represents sunshine, laughter with friends, and the feeling of coming home, which is exactly what this transformation is all about,” Executive Director Maureen Hennessy said in a release.
