Next to the runway at Tacoma Narrows Airport in Gig Harbor, The Hub offers a dining experience that blends comfort food with a local aviation backdrop.

The airport, a 568-acre general aviation facility, serves business jets, flight schools, and scenic aviation tours, making it a natural gathering place for pilots, travelers, and locals.

The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with a menu featuring hand-tossed pizzas, stacked burgers, fresh soups and salads, and Alaskan cod and chips, as well as well-loved Cajun tots.

There’s also a well-stocked bar pouring a solid lineup of local beers, and outdoor seating that lets you take it all in. We tried the Large Line Holder — a generously- sized cheeseburger pizza, topped with ground beef, caramelized onion, bacon, tomato, a tangy burger sauce, and fries. Each bite really does taste like a cheeseburger, reimagined as a slice.

Next up was the classic smashed burger. The Black Angus beef topped with American cheese, pickles, tomato, house-made mayo, and crisp iceberg lettuce on a soft brioche bun is a house favorite — and we agreed.
