More than 328,000 Jeeps recalled over risk of parts detaching while driving

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is recalling 328,381 Jeeps due to real coil springs that may have been incorrectly installed.
Seven different Jeep models are subject to the recall, including the 2022-2023 Grand Cherokee, 2022-2023 Grand Cherokee 4XE, and 2021-2023 Grand Cherokee L, the NHTSA announced.
The reason for the recall is that the rear coil springs may detach from the vehicle while driving.
Dealers will replace the rear coil spring lower isolators for free. Interim notification letters are expected to be mailed on Sept. 29, which will notify customers of the safety risks.
Additional letters will be sent out once the final remedy is available.
The latest recall replaces two previous recalls, 26V051 and 23V413, and any other Jeeps already repaired under those recalls will need the latest repair, according to the NHTSA.
