Good thing the clergy wasn’t present when Clinton said this

Every year, the Catholic Archdiocese of New York raises money for charity by charging rich people admission to hear famous politicians roast each other, and Thursday night, it was Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump with the Archbishop seated between them.

But because the whole campaign itself has become a roast — and at times a brutal barbecue — it was sometimes hard to tell if they were joking.

“Hillary accidentally bumped into me, and she very civilly said ‘pardon me.’ And I very politely replied, ‘let me talk to you about that after I get into office,'” Trump said.

Then it was Hillary’s turn – she brought up immigration.

“People look at the Statue of Liberty and they see a proud symbol of our history as a nation of immigrants. Donald looks at the Statue of Liberty and sees a four,” Clinton quipped.

Careful. Remember the statue is a gift from France.

“Maybe a five if she loses the torch and tablet and changes her hair,” Clinton added.

That’s better. Good thing the clergy was present.

I think Cardinal Dolan enjoyed it, although he admitted to being a little under the weather.

“I’m afraid I’m coming down with a cold, which is completely understandable given the fact that, for the last two hours, I’ve had a seat between our two candidates in what’s the iciest place on the planet.”

I’d argue that with 18 days to go until the election the iciest places on earth will be the swing states. By the way, if you live in a swing state, now would be the time to unplug your cable and rip out your phone.
