Dave Ross Commentary – Listen: Sorry Congressman Weiner, nothing more interesting than you happened all weekend

Sorry Congressman Weiner – nothing more interesting than you happened over the weekend. In fact you even got a headline for something you DIDN’T do:

“The communication was through twitter and it was all above board, there was nothing salacious, and no photographs,” said the attorney for a 17-year-old girl who actually got NORMAL messages from Anthony Weiner! Breaking news! Congressman sends normal tweets!

But it’s too late.

House Democrats have started to turn: including ertswhile defender Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and I think what finally did it was the sound bite of this guy outside Weiner’s New York office:

“Taking shots of his genitals. That’s what’s important to Anthony Weiner folks. It ain’t about potholes, it’s about his genitals.”

Oddly similar in style to some of Weiner’s own speeches:

“The gentleman is wrong. The gentleman is providing cover for his collegues rather than doing the right thing,” said Weiner.

But the final nail… was the story that DIDN’T break. The story which — if it HAD broken — might have distracted us. But no — Sarah Palin’s emails — were just emails.

“Buried in the 24,000 pages of emails are these revelations: She doesn’t much like the press, in one there is even talk of her daughter wanting a trampoline,” said one news report.

The media colonoscopy turned nothing even remotely malignant, so the Weinergraphs remained front and center.

You know — if the Democrats are hard up for a guy from Queens who can make fiery speeches, this guy…

“It ain’t about potholes, it’s about his genitals.”

Might need some fine tuning, but still.

Ross: Voters weren’t just voting for change, they were voting for a hormone
