Sarah Palin, easy rider

Dave Ross Commentary – Listen: Sarah Palin, easy rider
The male Republican nomination-seekers have a big problem. They’re boring.
All that stuff about debt and health care is like listening to Al Gore predicting when the ice cap will melt.
But look who just rolled into town:
Reporter: When are you planning to announce that you’re running for president?
Sarah Palin: When I decide if I’m ever going to run for president.
Forget politics. When I hear that accent, I can smell the freshly-baked apple pie on her windowsill.
“It’s going to be a changed up feel between now and when deadlines finally arrive for declaring,” says Palin.
She’s not spreading new ideas, or talking debt numbers; she’s reaching for something deeper. Wholesomeness.
Reporter: Are you enjoying messing with our heads a little bit?
Palin: No, no, no, that’s not the purpose, it really isn’t.
She’s going that my-family-is-my life wholesomeness. And she’s doing it dressed in leather riding tandem with Willow on a motorcycle:
“It’s still a matter of looking at the field and considering much. There truly is a lot to consider,” says Palin.
I imagine the Palins living in the house on the corner. The lawn is always mowed, the SUV always washed, but there are also kids toys scattered in the front yard, muddy sneakers on the front step, and at dinnertime sure there’ll be vegetables on the plate, but there’ll be some barbecue too. And DESSERT!
So be honest — where would you rather hang out on a sunny day? At the Gingrich’s? At the Romney’s? Or with the Palin’s?
All the time thinking — Why can’t my mom be that cool?
