Every year we pull out the wrapping paper, and carefully cut, and fold and tape, only to have it all savagely ripped apart on Christmas day.
Such a waste.
But in searching YouTube, I discovered an underground gift wrapping cult which rejects traditional wrapping paper.

“We’re wrapping a homemade gift from our kitchen with paper from our kitchen — wax paper,” a YouTuber explains in her video.
Or you can use an ordinary brown paper bag!
“Sprucing up a brown paper bag, just by adding a doily and some pretty ribbon…,” another creative YouTuber says.
And if you don’t have wax paper or a brown paper bag, how about aluminum foil? Don’t forget old magazines. This is why you’ve been keeping them.
Spend enough time on YouTube and you’ll find the possibilities are limitless!
“Last year, my mom wrapped all of our gifts in brown wrapping paper and then took black and white pictures of each member of our family and put them on the brown wrapping paper instead of a name tag, and I loved that,” a young YouTuber explains.
So you see? There are endless creative videos to inspire you for the holidays. Most of them are hosted by women.
Although I did find one hosted by a man, who reminds us that no matter how creative you are; no matter what material you use, always keep your eye on your goal.
“First of all, make sure your paper covers your package.”
Yes. Well said.
