An early morning crash in Auburn’s Lea Hill neighborhood has left thousands of Puget Sound Energy customers without power.
The car involved smashed into a power pole around 2 a.m. on Friday. The crash knocked out power to more than 4,000 PSE customers. That number was down to approximately 1,500 around 5:40 a.m.
The two people in the car were transported to a hospital in serious condition.
Officers say excess speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
The crash occurred at 124th Ave SE and 304th, which police say will remain closed until at least 9 a.m.
There is no estimate on how long it will take to restore power to everyone.
