Comey hearing proves America’s election process is under attack

Jun 9, 2017, 8:41 AM

Here’s what I got from the James Comey hearing: America’s election process is under attack. But instead of uniting against that attack, we’re basically telling Russia that we want to help them destroy our country by turning this into a political issue.

So President Trump wants to pretend nothing happened, and Democrats want to pretend it was Russia that got him elected.

Well, I think Russia did interfere, but the interference did not involve Russia doctoring the actual vote. Their attempt to hack the counting software was a failure.

What they did was try to hack voters’ brains by timing the release of emails and planting fake stories.

So the solution is pretty simple: Don’t be gullible.

We control our brains. We can choose not to believe this stuff.

Stop forwarding stupid stories!

Trump probably still would’ve won, interference or not. Hillary Clinton had way too much baggage in her overhead bin.

But because we have so many Facebookers who basically did Russia’s bidding by circulating phony stories there is now this cloud over everything, which helps no one.

The way I see it, if you share news stories, you’re a publisher. You should behave as you expect professional publishers to behave. If you think the mainstream media is lazy and biased, you shouldn’t be forwarding unvetted Russian effluent you haven’t even bothered to read.

If our election process is under attack by a foreign power – and that seems to be true – then each of us has to choose whose side we’re on. If you share phony stories, you’re on the wrong side.
