Three-time Mariner reduces sale price of Carnation home

Jeff Nelson served three different stints with the Seattle Mariners (1992-1995, 2001-2003 and again in 2005) but the home he bought in Carnation as a New York Yankees in 1998 is currently listed on the market and has been reduced to $2 million.
The gated, former Street of Dreams residence in the Blakely Woods neighborhood has 5 bedrooms, 4.75 bathrooms and approximately 7,860 square feet of living space. The brick Tudor also has a delightful children’s play area indoors and out, plus a guest house, sport court and swimming pool.
The right-handed pitcher, who also served as a high-school basketball referee in the Puget Sound area, is Seattle’s all-time record holder for most games pitched (383), and had a 23-20 won-lost record with the Mariners. He made World Series appearances with the Yankees in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000 and was selected to the American League All-Star team in 2001 as a Yankee.
Despite several seasons away from the region, Nelson decided to retain his Carnation residence. The price of the home, which sits on three acres, has been reduced $400,000 in the past two years. Property taxes for 2011 are listed at $18,946.
