Can King County bribe you out of your car?

A new program is trying to get Seattle drivers to ditch their cars in exchange for prizes.
King County’s In-Motion project is targeting two Seattle neighborhoods — Capitol Hill and Ravenna-Bryant. The goal is to get residents to not rely so heavily on their car by carpooling, using public transportation, or riding a bike.
People who register online and log their weekly progress will be entered in the bi-weekly drawings for gift cards to local businesses.
Commuters can also try out car-sharing with Zipcar (the application fee is waived for participating In-Motion members), or bike sharing with Pronto Cycle Share (hope you have strong calves). Drivers also have the new University District-Capitol Hill Link Light Rail line.
You can also get a free ORCA card good for two weeks of unlimited rides if you sign up before Aug. 7.
