Crews cleared the early-morning crash that shut down the northbound lanes of SR 99 in Seattle Monday morning.

The crash on the Alaskan Way Viaduct shut down all northbound lanes for about 20 minutes Monday morning. Only one lane was open until crews were able to clear the crash around 8:30 a.m.

Delays stretched to First Avenue. Traffic on I-5 backed up due to the crash.

King County Metro issued an alert: “Expect service delays on rts 21, 55, 56, 57, 113, 120, 121, 122, 123, 125 & the C Line due to a blockage on SR-99/Seneca St.”

KIRO Radio traffic reporter Tracy Taylor drove past the scene on Monday morning.
