Heavy rains mean slides, downed trees across Seattle area roads

The rain is back in the Northwest and that means mudslides, downed trees, and water on the roadways.
According to the National Weather Service, a flood watch is in effect for King County until 10 p.m. Thursday and it’s expected to rain for the next few days.
Some of the current road problems drivers are faced with:
US 12 south of Elma is still closed at mp 27 until further notice due to a slide. Cleanup in that area just began.
SR 501 near Reiman Road in Ridgefield closed due to erosion from heavy rains; one lane is set to reopen by 2pm.
Watch for water over roads in low-lying areas along the Snoqualmie River due to minor flooding.
Both directions of SR 9 are closed at the South Fork Nooksack River due to water over the road.
To keep drivers safe, the Washington State Department of Transportation will keep State Route 20 closed between Concrete and Rockport until further notice. Heavy rainfall caused a slope at milepost 92 to become increasingly unstable.
