Expect more traffic congestion in Seattle due to Monday Night Football

Monday Night Football fever is starting to grow in Seattle and while it’s exciting, traffic could slow you down on the way home from work, even if you care less about the game.
The Seahawks play the Bills at 5:30 p.m. at CenturyLink on Monday night but the pregame festivities will start earlier downtown.

Annie Johnson from Washington State Department of Transportation reminds drivers that if you are coming to the game, it appears that traffic starts to build around 3 p.m., so plan to get there early (or leave Seattle early for that matter).
Obviously, if it rains or if we have an accident on I-5 around that time, it will be an extra-long drive.
There are a few transportation changes that Seahawks fans should keep in mind. Mainly, Seahawks Metro Park & Ride Bus Service and Sounder Train Service are not available for weeknight games. So that beat-the-traffic trick many fans use — rail, buses, etc. — won’t be available Monday night.
Washington State Ferries are getting in on the Monday Night Football fun and will add runs after the game. Ferries will also hold a floating Seahawks pep rally on the 2:55 p.m. run from Bainbridge Island featuring the Bainbridge High School Marching Band. Click here for more.
During the game, Northwest Harvest will be doing a cash only food drive. Volunteers will be at CenturyLink Field; stationed at all gates, in Touchdown City and throughout the stadium to accept contributions.
And if you do not care about football at all, expect more congestion on roads, buses and trains Monday afternoon.
