Toll sign goes dark on I-405

A software issue plagued the express toll lanes on I-405 on Tuesday morning, adding confusion to a tough weather commute.

KIRO Radio listeners reached out to us asking about the first toll sign on I-405 southbound coming out of Lynnwood. It was blank for about 90 minutes. Initially, drivers thought it might be due to a power outage, but WSDOT said it was a software issue.
WSDOT advised drivers that they could still use the lane, but they would be charged at the next access point.
