Weekend I-90 closure expected to damper holiday cheer

While you are dashing around enjoying holiday cheer, allow yourself some extra time as it might be rough heading over I-90 westbound this weekend.
Traffic will be reduced on I-90 westbound to one lane near Bellevue Way Southeast then rerouted to the express lanes from 11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, to 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, for construction work.
If you are taking advantage of the new snow in the mountains or Snowflake Lane in Bellevue, heading east from the west side could be easy, but returning to Seattle might just turn you into the Grinch.
