Drivers are still confused about how to properly read the I-405 express toll-lane signs.
On Wednesday, the Washington State Department of Transportation tweeted out an explanation of how tolling works.

The toll signs show drivers what it costs to travel to a particular exit point from where they enter the lanes. The rates adjust the farther they go.
Of course, it helps if the toll-lane signs have a proper display in the first place. The department forgot to flip a switch that resulted in the lanes being HOV-only Wednesday morning, KIRO Radio’s Chris Sullivan reports.
