Bellevue police believed the death of a 27-year-old woman last month was suspicious. Now, the King County Medical Examiner has ruled the death a homicide.

When police arrived at a home on Northeast 10th Street on October 27, they found a woman unresponsive. She was pronounced deceased, and officers noted her death as suspicious.

Bellevue woman died by strangulation

On Monday, that suspicion was confirmed. The King County Medical Examiner ruled the woman’s cause of death as asphyxia/strangulation, and the manner of death was homicide.

Police had no comment on whether they have a suspect or a motive, but they say people in Bellevue have no reason for concern.

“This community is safe. Bellevue is safe, in that there is no ongoing threat,” Bellevue Police Department spokesperson Drew Anderson said.

The suspicious death investigation is now a homicide investigation. Police are actively seeking information in their ongoing investigation.

“Maybe they saw something October 27 in the area around Northeast 10th Street — please contact us. We’re never going to turn down a tip,” Anderson said.

If you know anything about what happened to the woman, call Bellevue police or 911.
